What is Wood

Wood is one of the most versatile and common material available

CO2 cycle

6 CO2 + 12 H2O > 6 O2 + 6 H2O + C6H12O6

Wood is one of the most versatile and common fabrics available. Whether for energy use, packaging or construction. In Switzerland, around 10 million cubic metres of wood grow every year, of which only 6 million are used. The forest area in Switzerland is continuously increasing – between 2004 and 2010, an area the size of the canton of Schaffhausen is "forested".

What is wood?
Wood is stored solar energy. Wood is produced from the CO2 in the air and water, which are converted into oxygen, water and cellulose by plant photosynthesis.
The chemical process can be described as follows: 6 CO2 + 12 H2O > 6 O2 + 6 H2O + C6H12O6
